Preparing for Wheat Harvest 2020

The past few days have been spent preparing for the soon to be here wheat harvest. Milton likes to have his equipment clean so the power washer came out on the hot windy days we have had. He taught the farm kid how to use the power washer and she washed our utility vehicle “the mule.”

I was home on this day to snap the two of them working together. Our daughter is fortunate to have a father that plays a vital role in her life and teaches her things in the farming industry. I think it will benefit her whether she finds her life on a farm or not.

Clean up Clean Up Everybody do their share!

We were pretty sure our fields are not quite ready to harvest but we traveled out together as a family to check them last night. Most of them are not ready, still pretty green but we have one field that Milton might try today. If he is able to cut it then he can get the double crop soybeans planted before the rain shows up later this week!

We currently have other crops growing along with the wheat. The corn and soybeans would be very happy to have that rain they are forecasting!

I’d say that pretty much wraps it up for us for now. I’m sure I’ll be posting photos in the near future of our wheat harvest on our social media platforms. So if you want to follow along, be sure to go like our pages and comment or like or stuff!

Thanks for stopping by!

Julie

P.S.

Our chicks are growing up! Only 1 month old and look at them! They like to be outside too! The puffy headed ones make me laugh every time I see them!
