Farm Post Friday 6/24/2016 – Pictorial Post

Farm Post Fridays

If you have been following us on our Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest page you know that we have been harvesting wheat here in Central Kansas.  Life on the farm is sometimes quiet, simple, but normally always something to do.  During wheat harvest it becomes a time of long days, quick meals, little relaxation, and focus on getting the crop in while anticipating the weather.

Take a stroll through this post.  It’s of photographs I took along the way.  If you missed last weeks Farm Post Friday be sure to go back and check it out!

During harvest time the normal routine is not available.  So to obtain quality time together and continue a bond, spending time together means heading to the wheat field for this kiddo.

This year I was asked to journal daily about wheat harvest and what I was up to.  HarvestHer has a Facebook page and that is where they share the journal entries and photographs submitted.  My friend Tracy has done a great job organizing and making this happen!  I’ve enjoyed reading other people’s journal entries as well.  It’s given me the opportunity to stay on track for keeping records and memories with photographs too!

The pond in the pasture is so full right now!  We have been blessed with rain!

We couldn’t have completed our wheat harvest without the help of two great guys!  We appreciate the time and hard work they put in with us.  One was family and one was not but they both gave it their all!

  1. Thanks for sharing your journey with us! I grew up in rural Kansas on an agriculture station run by Kansas State Univ. that my dad was an agronomist for, So your Journal entries just bring back so much of what has shaped me into who I am. coming over from Country Fair Blog Party.
