As I stand in my kitchen, in the country, rural living is expressed at its best. The only sound I can hear is the tractor loading feed in the darkness. The lights shining in my kitchen window dancing shadows on my walls.
I turn from the window and look into a darken house. The quiet simplicity of this moment is beautiful. The silence quiets my rattling mind and I take a deep breath.
No curtains upon the windows for the man of the house doesn’t like things blocking his view. No tree line along our back yard for the same reason. Today I’m glad for this.
Quiet child sleeping snug in her bed dreaming of who knows what. Another deep breath from my chest and a thankful pondering thought is released.
The darken morning a sweet reminder of the gifts I’ve been given.
