It’s been six years since we began our tradition of having a couples dinner party in February. The excitement as the date approaches always gets me into such a fun mood! I will admit there are moments of frazzled Julie but I just turn some music on and dance in my kitchen to remember to have fun! The evening has never disappointed in the entertainment or laughter department with this group of friends!
POST #1 from this years event can be found here!
This year we decided to start the fun about 30 days prior to the party! Most of the time we like to get the couples to spend time together doing something together, whether it be before, during, or after our gathering. This year we sent them on Scavenger Selfie Date Challenge! I was inspired by this blog post I found on Pinterest!
The rules included ten topics for them to obtain selfies and send to me prior to the party. I then put them into a powerpoint presentation, with each couple choosing a song for me to play during their slides.
Right here is where I am going to make a suggestion. DO THIS! GO out and and play this game with your partner or friend or other couples. I can not tell you HOW much I laughed, felt sappy, laughed again and felt inspired to put FUN back in my own marriage! Even if you don’t normally do things like this…. DO IT!
Milton & I did choose to head out one day to try this experience after seeing all our friend’s selfies/photos! I am using our photos for the blog post. We had such a good time doing the entire challenge together. I think we might do similar things in the future to keep our connection & laugh more often!

Here’s an explanation of the slides. I feel it’s needed!
You will notice we do not have a #2 or #10 in our slideshow. We did do a #10 and figured it would work for #2 as well. We laughed so much while creating it that it’s an epic memory for sure! I could post it but feel that my husband would probably get some major razzing about it and although he doesn’t care, I tend to be protective of my family. The best part about it was that he came up with the initial idea and then we kind of worked together to create it. Let’s just say…. It’s rated G, very G. Think…..
Ward & June from Leave It to Beaver… but I’m pretty sure you won’t be picturing it right! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by & know that friends a blessing in life, so come together often, allow them to inspire and lift you up! Have fun and love your partner!
Julie
