As usual the evening turned out better than we anticipated and ended with us having headaches from laughing so much and more wrinkles from smiling all evening! Just how you want a gathering to go!
Our guests participated by bringing some of the food and also completing their video assignments! They are such good sports to play along! We did get a little grief for this year’s assignment ! Their videos were awesome and funny and they looked to all be having a super special experience together! So we’ll take the grief! Thanks for playing along friends!
I will tell you that Milton and I had a very fun time making ours. Although too long and probably not real funny to others we laughed during and while watching it. Laughter is a good thing! Another blog post on this later!
Let’s get to the menu! Milton and I provided the Broccoli Cheese Soup and a small appetizer tray. One of our couples was unable to make it due to an illness and we missed them terribly. The conversation lulled and we all said “If L & M were here this wouldn’t happen!” 🙂

As I stated before I used items I had for the table decor. The only thing I had to buy was the red roses I laid about. I made my way to google and found some “Love Quotes” to cut out in hearts shapes for each couple and candles for ambiance. I know it probably seemed a little fancy for us just having soup but that’s okay. The table decor is my favorite part next to the party favors!
Which speaking of those we went quite simple. We made coasters with scrabble tiles that were somewhat customized to each couple. We always put some yummy chocolate in the bags and pickup some adult beverages to finish it off!
The games were supplied by S & G and they never disappoint! We played three games! One of the couples had to leave early so it was just us and J & D! I tell ya what, they are hard competition!
The first game was with the wives standing behind and the husbands instructing us how to make a PB&J and then we had to cut it and they had to take a bite.
The second game the roles were reversed and the husbands had to make a Valentine! They had to glue the pink heart onto the white heart and use all stickers and stamp it at least once with each stamp.
The third game we sat with our backs to one another, answered six questions, then S. read the questions to each opposite spouse to have them answer how their spouse did. It was interesting and the questions were somewhat difficult for us! BUT…..
Milton and I prevailed! We were the winners of this year’s games! Not to brag but my PB & J was pretty nice looking when all was said and done! 🙂
Our prize was BEYOND awesome – I mean it’s super cool how S & G put together a thoughtful and wonderful array of inspiration! Wine, chocolates, two little books, a restaurant gift card and my favorite things is last.
She made “notes” for us to give each other in a cute little “mailbox” every week on Saturday. I mean who does this? My friend S! Ya… be jealous – she rocks! I loved every bit of it! I told Milton he got off easy, he doesn’t even have to write the note! Although S did tell him he could add his own if he wanted!
I’ll end this post by saying what I do so often. We should gather with these folks more often and I wish I hosted more gatherings in our home. I love inviting others in and embracing a time of joy. Thank you my friends for spending the past 8 years joining us, even if only for one night a year!
Thanks for stopping by!
